I just got back to my hotel after attending Verb Lit in person and afterwards actually having dinner with Verb Team members...including Rory himself!
I was able to talk with so many members. I really just wanted to celebrate with them, especially after all the hard work preparing, but yeah they were disappointed! Yes co-sell program is important to them... most importantly, they have already regrouped, shook off the disappointment and ready to get back to the grind. During dinner Rory shared a couple emails from investors expressing support for the company. It made him feel better. Yeah...it was surreal watching this. I was star struck the entire evening. We talked about a lot of things over dinner from our kids love of shoes to how others met there spouses to possible uses of Verb's technology in different and various verticals.
I've watched many videos of Rory speaking passionately of things to come... at one point we were speaking of the value Sound Concepts brought to the company and I was able to express to Rory in agreement, "man that was a great acquisition, Rory", reflecting on the value they've brought to Verb. Rory looks right at me and nods in agreement and says, "yes it was, but you just wait for what is coming!"
Grateful as ever to have spent the evening with them. Great people great team great company.
