Duterte retiring from Philippine politics -- or so
Post# of 148288
If this turns out to be a real retirement, rather than governing from the shadows, I think this is possibly good for us. We don't really know what happened in the Philippines. Why Estrada's son, after lauding Leron as a miracle drug, suddenly stopped mentioning it. Why, after the FDA's open if mistaken letter was published, talk of a Philippine EUA dried up. Very likely the nation's relationship to the US was involved; someone in the Philippine government either was asked not to promote this drug or took it upon himself not to mess with the US FDA. But if Duterte leaves, the way is clear for a government to take a very different direction on a lot of things, including the way they deal with Covid19.
