A critical factor limiting the abilities of HIV-specific T cells to recognize and eliminated infected cells is the rapid evolution of HIV within a host to acquire escape mutations in targeted epitopes.
Fun fact.. studying HIV requires maintaining an HIV culture, which requires immune cells to sustain.. cheapest and most accessible source is usually the researchers themselves. But after a short time, that culture will evolve to have very host-specific mutations. And lab accidents can and do happen. Usually those working with the virus in the lab are assigned to work with strains grown from cells from other lab workers, to give the virus that much less of a chance in the event of a contamination event.
None of these strategies preclude LLMab's usage.
