FINRA has posted short interest for the period ending 8/31. I thought it might start going down as we get closer to positive developments, but there was an increase of 890K shares.
8/31 short interest 37,467,606
Average daily volume 3,282,994
Days to cover 11.41
8/13 short interest 36,577,531
Average daily volume 5,334,829
Days to cover 6.86
Days to cover has almost doubled due to lower volume. It is my understanding that this is an accurate figure (not sure about naked short interest?). FINRA posts the following on their website:
FINRA Rule 4560 requires FINRA member firms to report their short positions in all over-the-counter (“OTC”) equity securities to FINRA.
