The ICUs in the hospitals throughout KY have no available beds, and the covid patients who need ICU are being kept on other floors until an ICU bed opens up. There's a shortage of nurses throughout the state and many of them are resigning each day because they're getting burned out by the taxing hours and numerous shifts covering floors that are understaffed. Nurses who would ordinarily have 3-4 patients a day are now covering 6+. Serious accident or gunshot victims who need a ventilator have to wait to get an ICU bed.
