It's a common practice to test any link you post a

I think their views on Twitter, Facebook, etc would be higher if you didn't have to scroll past the pinned post each time you go to the site as that just creates friction to view the latest news. Many company don't pin post for that reason. The ones that do may pin something significant that happened recently not from January as when someone sees something that old, they may think the sites hasn't been update in a long time.
The current pricing for the Market Place is 8-12% depending on the amount sold during the vent. Post event is 5%. Will that change, don't know, but I like that pricing as it's in line with other sites and can give Verb some significant revenue once this becomes a destination.
TalkShop as an example is 10.25%, but there is a catch. If you are syncing to shopify, you can sync 25 product/mo. for free. After that it's anywhere between $6-$90/mo to sync more, but the commission goes down slightly as you monthly fee goes up.

Verb investors may want to go view some of their events.

It is interesting reading the article about their embeddable player
"Talkshoplive debuted a new version of its embeddable player three weeks ago with publishers Hearst, with Oprah Daily, as well as Condé Nast’s Bon Appétit magazine and now launching across additional publications."
Previously the only way you could watch an event is from their website. Where as with Verb, you can watch anywhere. No comparison. Looking forward to the release of recorded Verb live events as that will be big.
"In fact, sales so far this year have surpassed all of the company’s 2020 revenue, growing 85 percent month over month, he said."
This tells me sales aren't that high yet for Talkshop but that's OK as it's still early for them. It's easy to grow 85% per month when your revenue is small.
"Initially, the company was focused on books and music, working with famous names, such as Matthew McConaughey, Alicia Keys and Dolly Parton. Now, the company is looking at food, beauty, fashion, and sports."
I think that may have been the problem. Books and Music. You have to sell a heck of a lot of books to make money.
But, but red, they have music, Alicia Keys!!!
Yeah, she was selling a $25 book and she did it once and from what I see, never returned.
But I will say, if you are a fan of a particular writer or artist, you would enjoy a live event like this and probably buy the book. The funny thing is, some of the people that join the event, already bought the book, but that's cool and adds to the experience and may encourage others to buy the book.

If you watch a live (or recorded) event there, you notice a big difference between verbLIVE and talkshop. You can't really see what is forsale unless you click on the buy button. Then the chat goes away and only then are you presented with photos of the products.
Friction!
"The new round of funding gives Los Angeles-based Talkshoplive $10.5 million raised to date and enables it to scale its product management and technical teams. In addition, the company will double-down on category verticals ."
TSL is going to need to get into more verticals rather then just selling one book per checkout. All in all, they are doing a nice job, but Verb is setting the bar higher for Live events.
