I’m glad to see you are persistent. I never stated that mutations do not occur in the immunosuppressed. I stated that selective pressures in the immune competent determine whether a mutation leads to a variant impacting the immune competent.
You are not reading clearly and are ascribing to me statements I have not made.
Mutations occur with viral reproduction, whether immune competent or immune suppressed.
Period.
The ability of the mutations to become variants is dependent upon their ability to thrive in the larger population. The primary selective pressures they need to overcome are competition from other circulating variants and immune suppression by the immune competent.
Survival of the fittest, truly.
Mutations, again, arise from any vessel of viral reproduction.

Success or failure (selection and proliferation or extinction) occurs in the host population. Success against the immunocompromised only demonstrates success against the immunocompromised.
You promised to stop.
I’ll promise the same.
I can’t help you any more than this.
