After receiving an international search report of its May 2021 Patent Cooperation Treaty (“PCT”) application, Cybin filed a U.S. nonprovisional patent application claiming priority to the May 2021 PCT application (https://nnw.fm/ufvsQ), and the company also filed two additional international patent applications, bringing the potential to obtain patent coverage in 153 countries (https://nnw.fm/I1hRH).
According to the company, the International Patent Searching (“IPC”) authority provided a written opinion in support of the novelty, inventive steps and industrial applicability to multiple claims within Cybin’s patent filing. As a result, the nonprovisional patent application includes claims to compositions and methods to support certain elements of the company’s preclinical and research programs.

One of Cybin’s PCT patent applications is in connection with a group of proprietary compounds identified by the company’s research data as being key for further evaluation toward selection as potential therapeutics.
