In June 1964 I had a chance to see the Stones at a local teen and young adult alcohol free dance hall. Me and my buddies would drive around the countryside drinking a few drinks before hand. As the article says, it was usually $1.50, but for the Stones it was $6.00. We had never heard of them, just knew they were an English band. We drove by just after opening half drunk and hardly anyone there, so we did not go, geez, $6.00 was a lot then. A year later, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction" came out and we were ticked we did not go.
Wild article, only 20 people at the open of the show and Mick broke a guys jaw from my home town of Mound backstage.
