Drug companies have a history of buying and burying competitive drugs. And look at the recent lawsuit about how an older and more dangerous HIV drug was the only one offered by Gilead even though they had a newer and less dangerous one -- but they wanted to run out the patent on the old one before releasing the new one.

Not saying that's necessarily the case here -- but it's why people are suspicious of Big Pharmas.
