If that alone isn't enough to scare off a doctor, well here comes a letter from the glorious FDA, worldwide leader in medicine, saying don't take leronlimab!
That's a Filipino lawyer's wet dream. Say you're a doctor in the Philippines, your patient is so far gone with COVID that you are considering unapproved drugs. You know all about leronlimab, and give it a try. Well, the patient has terrible comorbidities (diabetes, emphysema, etc) and dies anyway.
Well great. Now you're getting sued by their family, and here's Shyster McGee waving the FDA letter in front of a judge. "That evil doctor used a drug despite being told not to! He killed grandma!"
You're boned. Your practice is ruined, and you aren't helping any more patients for a long time.
That's a scary proposition. Unless you are absolutely sure this drug will work on this patient, can you take the risk?
