Dr. Berwanger is leading the trials in Brazil so I thought folks would enjoy seeing his biography. (Apologies if this has been posted before - I don't remember seeing it.)

Biography
Professor Berwanger (MD; PhD) is a cardiologist and clinical trialist who has been working as Chair of the Executive and Steering Committees and Global Study Director of large-scale randomized clinical trials. Dr Berwanger also created and coordinates a network of 92 Hospitals in Brazil to conduct COVID-19 trials.
Professor Berwanger is currently the Director of the largest clinical trials unit and coordinating center in Latin America (the Academic Research Organization- ARO, of the Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein) in Sao Paulo-SP, Brazil. Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein is the leading hospital (#1) in Latin America and the #34 best hospital in the World according to Newsweek 2020.
He was the main presenter of over 12 large clinical trials in late-breaking clinical trial sessions at the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions, American Heart Association Scientific Sessions and European Congress of Cardiology-ESC. Professor Berwanger has published manuscripts in major medical journals such as New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, JAMA, Circulation, JACC, Annals of Internal Medicine, BMJ, and the European Heart Journal.
