If a president was acquitted by the Senate, why are they still considered impeached?
Because impeachment on its own means absolutely nothing and will never mean anything as far as anyone is ever concerned.
All it means it that one part of government thinks something bad happened so they write up articles of impeachment with alleged offences, just like how a police officer writes up a report ….
Once that’s done you go to the senate and try and get the senate to agree with you that it was wrong and evil and worthy of being thrown out of office just like after a police officers written report with the evidence he gathered goes to a court to present findings and see if there is a case or not and if the accused is guilty or not.
In this case he was found not guilty of those charges brought forward, hence the acquittal, even a constitutional lawyer spoke first telling everyone how in the articles there was nothing significant nor worthy of deciding that trump is guilty and that he should be removed from office…
essentially anyone can accuse anyone of absolutely anything… doesn’t mean it’s true does it? It needs to go to court first and for a jury of their peers to decide if guilty, only then are they convicted and the punishment can be given.
Same here, anyone can make articles of impeachment in the house and send them to the senate for trial, doesn’t mean the impeachment articles are true or even worth a glance at, it just means they think he did something that’s all.
On the flip side however, Nancy Pelosi never wanted to impeach Trump, she said numerous times it’s a waste as there wasn’t anything of significance and the best way to beat him is at the polls .. however looney dems decided to push anyways and now most people see the dems as the party of lies and hatred, the party who steals from tax payers for their own politics and throws their own citizens that elected them to the side for monetary gain and power… that’s what the dems look like now to everyone…
If the dems listened to their wise speaker then today might be different, I can assure you that at least the dems would have 1/3 more voters than they did last year supporting them… instead more people now want to vote republican and for Trump because in the past few years he has actually done something whilst in office whilst the dems have done nothing but accuse and waste tax payers money for their own political games…
enough is enough, impeachment is an accusation that needs to be validated, it wasn’t … the party that falsely tried to impeach a president as seen during history has suffered severely as will the dems now after this.
so you gotta ask yourself, if Pelosi knew all this and explained it all to her party, why did they still push her to sign the articles and make it go through? They ruined any chance they ever had in the next few elections of winning if history is anything to go by now… so was it worth it? You decide on that yourself.
