Dr. Robert W. Malone, credited as the father of our modern RNA vaccines, on the Delta variant and the future of this pandemic. He's confirmed something I've said for the past year now: continue to take all the same precautions, even after getting vaccinated.

I guess I need to say this again.
1) Delta has an Ro of about 8, about 3x that of the Alpha (ref- CDC). With these leaky vaccines, if we were to have 100% vaccine uptake and perfect mask use we cannot stop the spread of Delta (ref- CDC).

[Vaccination will not stop C19. Masks won't stop C19. Refusal to implement proper quarantine policies and follow guidelines for lowering exposure / transmission mean that there will be no turning back once fall is here.]

2) the current vaccines provide about 50-60% efficacy in protection from infection. They are not fully protective.

[Vaccines do not mean you cannot catch or transmit.. they reduce length and severity of infection in most cases, but even the vaccinated should continue to follow protocols to adapt behavior]

3) if you are vaccinated and become infected ("breakthrough" , the virus will replicate at the same or higher levels than if you were unvaccinated and then become infected.

[The difference is your body is not starting from zero when vaccinated.. there will be some level of effective immune response from the beginning. It's lax of him to not explain / elaborate on that.]

4) if you are vaccinated and then become infected, your risk of transmitting virus to someone else is quite high - remember, the Ro measures how likely you are to transmit the virus.

[Continue to use protective measures, even after vaccinated]

5) if you are vaccinated and then become infected, your risk of developing severe disease or dying is better than if you were not vaccinated and then become infected with Delta.

[Poorly worded and should've been included with 3)]

6) Therefore, if you are vaccinated and then become infected, you MAY have a higher risk of becoming a "superspreader" because you are less likely to show disease. This has not been measured, but it should be.

[Continue to take precautions, even after vaccination. What he doesn't say, and should, is that the vaccinated who refuse to continue to take precautions, limit exposure, and limit transmission are the ones that will eventually select for a mutated variant that will effectively ignore our current vaccines. It's only a matter of time.]
