How many of these individuals are individuals who have come across the boarder?
Statistics can be skewed. We have major problems in this country however you look at it.
We know for a fact that the Delta variant is worse than the original and that the current vaccines while 'effective' to a point were only in the 90's or less effective against the original and since that is the case, they would be less effective against the Delta variant. That's common sense. It's not rocket science here.
We know based on the Massachusetts incident that sent people to the hospital, majority of those people were vaccinated went to the hospital because they were sick. That's also a fact. They had the Delta variant.
So, people who are vaccinated are going to the hospital and are sick. Those are facts. Just as it is a fact that people who are not vaccinated are getting sick and going to the hospital.
So, the point is, it doesn't matter, if you are vaccinated or not, you can get the Delta variant or any of the variants and you can get sick and you can end up in the hospital and you can possibly die. Those are the facts. Period.
If you want to get the vaccine, get it. If not, don't. But you still run the risk of getting sick, having to go to the hospital, etc.. 39 times more or 39 times not more. It doesn't matter. You run the risk either way.
Here's an update (dated 8/16/21) worth reading, with the headline: "Putting COVID and vaccinations in context: Data shows hospitalization rate 39 times higher for unvaccinated." https://www.masslive.com/coronavirus/2021/08/...nated.html
