The Delta mutation has changed the playing field. That is what viruses do, mutate to survive.
In the beginning there was the Alpha Covid. It found a nicely tilled, fertile growing ground in old and comorbidity humans. It thrive until either the natural immune system kicked in or the host died. But there were oodles of new fertile sources to access. After all, why try invading a human that had a more robust immune system that you would have to battle.
Then came the dark days of masking and social distancing. The Alpha version needed to adapt to find new food sources even thought it met that it would have to work a little harder to battle more robust immune systems. So it started moving down the age chain groups. The Delta version was born and took over.
Now it is the age of the vaccine. Where to go. Always looking for the easiest free lunch. The unvaccinated would be less work to invade. And look at that large group of unvaccinated humans. Yes, there tender young immune systems are powerful, but still weaker and less work to battle than the vaccine antibodies.
Fighting the Covid virus is like fighting wild fires out west in the USA. As long as there is fuel, the fire will continue. I can’t blame the firefighters. But will blame the people who continue to offer themselves (or their children) as fuel for the Covid fire by not at least wearing a mask and social distancing if they don’t want the vaccine or choose to wait for (hopefully) a better solution in the future.
I don’t think there are any vaccine conspiracies or anything unethical going on. Just like a wildfire path can change, even when it appears to be contained, because of a wind change that gives it a new fuel source, so too the Covid fire is constantly changing. I just see what is happening is that people are frantically doing whatever they can with whatever tool is available for them to use.
I would really like to see the Complete Vaccine tool starting to be built. I think that it will be the tool that could finally extinguish the Covid fire.
