Have you noticed that it is COVID cases or Delta cases, not deaths. It is all BS, I followed the number of deaths in the Minneapolis Fascist newspaper and hit the "last two weeks" button every Saturday and all year it is around 510 - to 550. It is lower around holidays and higher the week after probably for funeral reasons, but the average is not going up,
