Kinda strange that that you would pick now to put up that post......... For the last few days I have been wondering about what is happening to our birds, For example, as a kid. I can remember when summer was ending and fall was about to set in, we would begin to see massive flocks of birds beginning their migrations. They were usually blackbirds and these migrating flocks would stretch for a mile or more. Well. in addition to not seeing one of these migrations in years, I haven't even seen a solitary blackbird either. Also, at least where I live, I didn't see the first robin this year and they used to be all over the place..... Over the last ten to fifteen years, I have only seen one hummingbird and one red headed woodpecker........ I do hope that the numbers for a number of different critters can improve. I want my great nieces and great nephews to be able to experience the wildlife we once took for granted.
