I don't know about all of Florida, but Mangrove Trees, that they believe floated from Africa were protracted on the Keys. If you had a dock you had to work around the trees on your own property or get a permit to cut one down that was VERY hard to get. Kmart, that was big then, built a new store on Key Largo and they got permission to cut down over 100. Sad.
