Yeah, the science IS the scenario. Delta is a much more highly transmissible version of COVID, there are still too many un-vaxxed assholes and the breakthrough infections are not putting vaxxed people in the hospitals.
For much the same reason that the flu vaccine shortens and mitigates flu symptoms in the vaccinated who contract it.
