Something to noodle on... A number of instituti

A number of institutions hold Verb. A few have already reported but the majority will report over the next few weeks. I would suspect there are more now, then before since Verb is in the monetization phase of the company which is when you see the most stock appreciation.
We know that Vanguard, Fidelity, BlackRock and others also hold Verb in index funds in addition to other funds. Some of these funds get rebalanced quarterly and some annually. It's not always on the last day of the quarter or first, but I did noticed higher than usual volume on March 31st which may be a coincidence. But it also happened on June 30th as well with 94M shares in volume.
Some might not know many institutions put the rebalancing on hold or delayed because of the pandemic. Stands to reason as you had many stocks beaten down so why rebalance if they are going to come back post pandemic.
Verb's share price is twice now what it was at the end of Q1. Does that mean Vanguard, Fidelity, BlackRock and others bought twice in Q2 or more now? I guess it all depends on what every other stocks did within the respective index. To make the math easier, if they all doubled in 3 months, then I would say no. I am pretty, pretty, pretty confident most didn't double. In fact, few did like Verb.
That just covered off on index funds. What about the non-index funds and the timing of their buying/selling? It's not all retail that is driving the high volumes these days.
Article on rebalancing from BlackRock if anyone is interested.
"Importantly, index rebalances are publicized events and the dates are typically known in advance. For example, on September 4,2020 S&P Dow Jones announced the change for its quarterly index review of the S&P/ASX 200 Index, which occurred on September 21, 2020."
