"Who gives a shit?" Kinzinger told reporters."

He is a loyal GOP voter, but at least he seems to have a soul. Meanwhile, his chances of staying in Congress are slim, even though right now he has far more campaign cash that his potential primary opponents.
That will change as soon as the GOP figures out which trumper they want, and the out of state money floods in. Also, there is a good chance his seat will be cancelled as IL lost a seat, or he could be gerrymandered.
" A couple of months later, after McCarthy had warned Republicans that they’d risk losing the rest of their committee assignments if they accepted an offer from Speaker Nancy Pelosi to serve on the Jan. 6 Select Committee, Kinzinger’s response was more terse.
“Who gives a shit?” Kinzinger told reporters."

5. Don't look for the truth or you'll lose your committee assignment?
It's pretty sick that republicans lose committee assignments for looking into truth. That right there tells you who they are.
6. You would know the district I volunteered as a poll worker in for twenty years, it is Gym Jordan's.
Back in the late 70's and eighties our Republican counterparts were our friends and neighbors. The Republican County Chair lived around the corner from me in our rural district. He was in the habit of bringing the ladies boutique chocolates on election day. I was the most diversity we had, a flaming young liberal, you had equal numbers of D's and R's among those sweet old retirees. It all changed during Bush II under Karl Rove and Newt. All of a sudden "picking chads" was a Federal crime and the Brooks Brothers riot ensued.
I had been sitting on election night for years across from my Republican counter part with a pair of tweezers and a stack of computer cards the reading machine kicked out. We would hold up a card, check for three corners free and one corner hanging on, and devine voter intent on the hanging chad, by mutual agreement. Those were the days.
It didn't start with Karl and Newt. It started with Barry Goldwater in 64, and was put on steroids by Nixon in 68, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Lucianne Goldberg, Lee Atwater-the "dirty tricks specialists." Barry Goldwater was a gentleman compared to what came next. Newt and Karl never even bothered to pretend, winning was all that mattered.
And here we are. Gym is a "winner." And Adam Kinzinger is committing political suicide.
