Wed. Six Pack Post 1.) Button's Matter The v

1.) Button's Matter
The video I posted was a bit of a blind A/B test. All the buttons looked the same. Now what would people click on? Here are the results:
How Does This End?
Sun, Jul 11, 08:23 PM • 1 Mins 34 Sec
39 Recipients • 79 Clicks
Ending A : 17
Ending B : 18
Ending C : 13
Ending D : 18
Ending E : 13
Order Matters: Odds are people will click on the top ones if there is nothing else drawing them into which one to click
Using Color Matters: You can draw people to the selection you prefer by using colors that jump out from the others
Text Matters: Had I used labels like these. The results may have been different:
Horsey
Island
Shallow
Home
Rory
Images Matters: Even a picture of a horse, island, etc would be 10-100x more interesting to the recipients. Remember, you can even use an animated gif
Location Matters: Nice when you can put them off to the side. Even better if you don't block faces if people are moving around.
Size Matters: This one is obvious. Big enough so someone can see it, but remember, even a small button likely will get noticed since most have not see interactions within videos.
Quantity Matters: JJ and others will say in training videos you don't want every possible product you can sell to be on the screen as you'll overwhelm the viewer. Too much of a good thing.
I think they said 3-4 which makes a lot of sense. I saw a few where there was over a dozen which would be a bit too much. Remember, some people are watching on their phones.
Invisible Matters: I haven't seen a Verb video yet that uses this cool feature or maybe I forgot. But you can make invisible hotspots so you can say, click on my jacket, etc to buy.
2.) I like that you can click on the buttons even after the video is over. That was a change Verb did a year ago or so and it makes a big difference and glad it still is the case.
3.) I suspect in the future once VerbMail gets going, you'll see metrics like:
How many total VerbMail videos created
How many total VerbMail videos interactions created
How many total VerbMail videos watched
How many total VerbMail videos interactions clicked
You'll probably see something similar to for VerbLIVE
4.) I mentioned this before. Many of us that have been around for awile kind of forgot that 'first time'. The 'first time' you saw Verb. The company has come a long way since then with way more products than many of us good have imagined, but don't forget that 'first time'. Now think about all the 'first timers' and their reaction.
I was thinking if all investors sent an intra company email to an exec, decision maker, or even a buddy in the sales or marketing department, what would their reaction be for their 'first time'?
I'm thinking something a bit more than, 'hey check out this cool tech or cool company, but more in the line of business.
"Hi Mary, I put together that presentation you asked for. Just wanted to send you a personal message I appreciate the extra day you gave me to make it perfect. Click right here to view it...
5.) You can't see it and I only took a quick glance, but it does look like this may now be sitting on Microsoft's platform with global scale for performance leveraging their CDN (content delivery network). The beta pilot used Amazon and it's a big job to move it or even run on both.
6.) Don't forget Rory's presentation and Q&A today. Its 30 minutes. How the heck to you talk about everything going on in 30 minutes. Good problem to have.
