When I was looking this up I ran across Berkshire Hathaway which is a conglomerate. It looks like all the income and assets from all subsidiaries gets listed under the conglomerate.
Each company is separate but the conglomerate owns a majority share of the companies in conglomerate.
That's just my take. If someone knows for sure please share.
Typically the conglomerate is formed for tax advantages from what I can find.
