How much does it cost to get an APP approval from ADEQ?
A $2,000 initial fee is required at the time an application is submitted to the Department for review of any water quality protection service subject to an hourly fee. For APP Compliance Schedule Item (CSI) review, the Department has established Alternative Initial Fees for Compliance Schedule Items that are not Aquifer Protection Permit (APP) Amendments , which are significantly less than $2,000.00 (A.A.C. R18-14-103).
We don't know how many hours have been spent on SIRG's APP permit transfer but at $122 per hour, that is $976 per 8 hour day. Assume that CDM Smith charges a like amount, for a representative of CDM Smith to meet for a day with an ADEQ representative, that is $1,952 a day! Five days worth of meetings runs to around $10,000! Adds up very fast! Like I have previously posted, the permitting process is long and very expensive. |
