Well although I was off on the date of the PR by a week, it pretty much sounded like what I predicted. A ‘no substance’ PR. This is no criticism however. My policy has always been ‘if there are no developments then don’t do a PR’, even if investors are clamoring for news. An empty PR makes the average investor more, not less, anxious. And in reality there are apparently no substantive developments to report. That’s life.
I continue to hold that Joe does himself a disservice by visiting this board. For a CEO under enormous pressure to get through this very rough patch, there is always the risk of misinterpreting normal investor unhappiness as criticism, and responding as if it were criticism. Of course there is always mean spirited criticism waiting for Joe to show up here and he gets that too. All in all it’s a losing proposition for him to visit here under these circumstances. I’d recommend that he put on his swimsuit, grab a beer and head to the beach for a twilight swim. He’ll sleep better, and so will we.
