CNS Pharmaceuticals’ (NASDAQ: CNSP) lead drug candidate, Berubicin, is a novel anthracycline, the first of which to appear capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier based on limited clinical data. The company is currently developing Berubicin in the treatment of several serious brain and central nervous system oncological indications. CNS is set to commence patient enrollment in a potentially pivotal study to evaluate the efficacy of Berubicin for adult glioblastoma multiforme (“GBM”) in the second quarter.
