That’s why I brought it up to you. I know how it works and it’s not a setting of the price by any government agency. They use the carrot of money to lure you to the price they want you to charge if approved. The carrot to the agreement in prices for drugs is only the money. The more a company needs the money the lower the price will be negotiated. The NIH will not give you the monies unless you promise by contract to have a lower price than market value. They have you by the short hairs as they say.
That’s why if we have the money to finance our own trials it is much better to use our own money and not be bullied into a contract that could only let us charge 1/3 of market value because we received financial grants or assistance of any kind. The bigger money or profit is paying our own way for trials.
