I have a Longhauler friend who is gone. Passed away, by choice. This is really hard to process as we chatted a lot in our support group and in messenger. She was a beautiful and kind soul. Fighting physical and mental illness from a virus that changes your brain chemicals is beyond impossible. Heidi, we will share your truth and we love you.
I am shook by this, the second Longhauler suicide in the states. It is a reminder of a close family friend in high school who did the same. It sucks and it’s too hard but the world is moving on, if I don’t fight for Texas long-haulers, who will?
We are all in a dark bad place and hurting, but we must persevere and be leaders for those coming after us. 4000+ in my Texas group. They help remind me I can’t give up as my story will light the pathway for them.
But friends, I have absolute love and respect for my friend, but suicide is never the option. You know to message me or check in when you need a friend. We will be adding a “Friday Feeling” checkin to Texas group as a mental health support.
