PCTL's Annihilyzer in the UK Trust/Organisation
Post# of 1425
Trust/Organisation: North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust & NTH Solutions
Overview: In early 2020, North Tees & Hartlepool NHS FT business manager and Innovation Forum member Tony Wilson approached the AHSN NENC looking for support with the evaluation of a revolutionary disinfectant solution.
The innovative solution was the PCT Health Annihilyzer System. Using Hypochlorus fluid (HOCl), a broad-spectrum disinfectant, the system is proved to kill 99.9999% of known Hospital Associated Infection (HAI) pathogens and is PH neutral – the system allows for deep cleaning without the need to close of wards and treatments rooms for deep cleaning.
The introduction of the system at North Tees & Hartlepool NHS FT would be the first time the system had been used in the UK, having previously been in use across America. After an initial discussion with Innovation Forum lead Charlotte Fox, the AHSN NENC were able to provide support to ensure that the PCT Health Annihilyzer System could be fully evaluated and ready for wider use across the system. We worked closely with the Trust, and delivery partners PCT Health. Through AHSN NENC support and funding, North Tees & Hartlepool NHS FT were able to carry out testing, evaluation, and data analysis to show the effectiveness of the PCT Health Annihilyzer System.
As a result of the evaluation, the Trust has worked with their estates, facilities and support service subsidiary NTH Solutions to offer a commercial deep cleaning service utilising the PCT Health Annihilyzer, creating 50 job posts to support the rollout and growth of this commercial offering.
