Most majors (Big Oil) will sell their leases to smaller operators after completing primary and secondary recovery. After secondary recovery, typically only around 30% of the oil in the reservoir has been recovered and around 70% remains in the ground, and so these smaller operators eventually turn to some form of EOR (tertiary recovery) to extract the remaining oil.
If the technical report for the PCTL/Maverick well test is released and shows (verifiable) data in line with the initial results released, this could be the next boom for PCTL.
And as you pointed out in another post, the company and distributors won't be dealing with Big Oil who have their own bureaucracies and can be as bad as hospitals, but will be dealing with smaller owner/operators and family run businesses so much less red tape and easier to get a foot in the door.
The technical report will be the tell and I for one am looking forward to it's release.
