FDA did this I believe because they are annoyed by all the doctors, senators, and shareholders second guessing them, and they want to put all the criticism and questioning to rest. They are simply saying, "Ha. I am the boss." Bitching and moaning gets nothing but more slapdown by the FDA. NP took the right tact by saying "FDA is treating us fairly" and not antagonizing them.
Writing letters and making videos to annoy people at the FDA to try to pressure them just results in statements like this in response. No life's not fair, but we need to please the FDA to get our drug approved, and people continuing to criticize them doesn't give them the warm fuzzies about leronlimab.
It's a prove it business, and we haven't proved it in a big trial yet, unfortunately.
We are very close, but that's not good enough.
I agree that it should be, since it's safe and likely works, but FDA is in no hurry to stick its neck out for some little pipsqueak drug co that hasn't wowed in clinical trials for Covid.
