They tried a "shareholder" suit against CTIX (now known as IPIX). CTIX defended itself in court, and the judge wrote a scathing opinion that was at least 110 pages long. It seemed evident that the judge knew the case might set a precedent and it was a brilliant piece of work that destroyed every claim the Rosen Firm made.
Then, the judge did NOT award legal fees to CTIX.
At heart, a judge is still a lawyer, and they protect their own at everyone else's expense.
And clearly, the Rosen Firm has continued with their business model.
Funny how people don't "learn their lesson" when they get away with their bad acts -- they just keep doing the same things again.
GREENMAIL -- that is the business model for some law firms. File a lawsuit, or threaten to file one, and the business or individual who you are suing or threatening to sue will decide that it is cheaper to make some kind of a payment to you, rather than going to the expense of defending a suit, no matter how ridiculous the suit may be.
Until judges start actually punishing these firms for these kinds of lawsuits, this perfectly legal **alleged** extortion will continue.
And it certainly helps the cause of the shorts. Not that I would EVER allege that having 6 law firms constantly issue press releases "reminding" people of their yet-to-be-filed lawsuits could POSSIBLY be a coordinated effort by a cabal of shorts. No, I would NEVER suggest that.
