I wonder if Edison invented the first 12 volt light bulb? He was a big proponent of DC power and his employee of the time. Nickolas Tesla was more of the AC power inventor. The power we use today was used and approved at the world fair in Chicago in the early 1900’s and became the prevailing power that lit up the Country and eventually the world. Edison tried to scare the country into rejecting AC power and lost that battle. I believe he electrocuted a elephant and invented the electric chair in his scare attempt.
It just made more sense to use AC power over DC power that had to have a generation plant every mile. Granted... Edison lit the first house in New York City in famous bankers home of JP Morgan’s but non the less... Tesla won the race.
