The MIAI (Multi-Identity Activity Index) has been very high here at the Hangout too. This usually happens before news -- or what the multi-identity THINKS is about to become news. We've also seen great surges of multi-identity activity, and then he/they disappear again, because he/they were mistaken as to timing.
But it's usually a pretty reliable indicator.
