This is the last post I'll make on the subject...

As I said earlier, it's about context. Years ago, I worked in an Irish bar and we were hosting a fundraiser for victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing. A group of young Americans walked up to the bar and asked me to make a round of "Irish Car Bombs." Utterly oblivious. (BTW, I grew up in England in the 70s and 80s, so I know all too well what some of those very real bombs did.)
Every single one of us can choose what words we use, whether we're describing a virus or a drink. We can also choose to evolve and use words that will make us better, more compassionate human beings. Or we can choose to be dicks.
Enough people here seem to want to use "China Virus," so go for it. Hell, use "Kung Flu" if you want. If that's the kind of community and culture you want to nurture, I'm free to step away.
