They should have a wax figure of a doctor inoculating the stuffed grizzly bears inside those glass enclosures at the airport and in the hotel lobbies. Still got those?
Natural selection meet, vax reluctance and voter suppression measures; the battle is joined.
The old joke in AL used to be pick a deplorable statistic, at least we’re not MS.
Now, no state in the bottom 17 can’t credibly joke about the other 33 and DC when it come to vaccination rates.
I'm no believer that association is causation, but watch where COVID case spikes unfold. There will be few surprises.
States that have vaccinated the most residents
President Joe Biden had lofty vaccination goals when he entered office: Deliver 100 million doses of the vaccine in his first 100 days. By January 26, he doubled that commitment to 200 million doses. And as of April 22, 2021, day 92, that goal was reached.
Alexander Hamilton wouldn’t throw away his shot, but some Americans are. All Americans 16 and older became eligible for the vaccine as of April 19, and while some states are creeping toward a third of the population fully vaccinated, others are lagging below a quarter.
Stacker used data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) COVID Data Tracker to rank all 50 states and Washington D.C. based on the share of their populations that have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose. Data are as of April 13, 2021.
The values reflect vaccine patients’ state of residence, not where they received a vaccine. Differences in state vaccination rates can be due to a number of factors.
Earlier this year, supply of the vaccine itself was a limiting factor; more recently, hesitancy among residents seems to be the biggest barrier . Here’s how each state has been faring now that vaccinations are open to all Americans.

Hey, good job AK! Are you an outlier among your vaxxed neighbors?
Yeah? Better get one before the tourists beat you to it. Long f'in flight for a jab, IMO .
