Pittsburgh - Global law firm K&L Gates LLP has again earned more than 170 first-tier practice rankings — and 258 rankings overall — in the 11th edition of the U.S. News-Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” report, released today. Additionally, the firm was ranked as “Law Firm of the Year” in the category of Litigation - Environmental, the third time K&L Gates has been so honored in the past four years. Only one firm can earn the “Law Firm of the Year” designation in each of the report’s legal practice areas.
With 42 national first-tier rankings, K&L Gates again holds a spot among the top 10 firms for most national tier 1 rankings out of more than 15,000 law firms ranked. The firm’s 132 first-tier honors across 18 state and metropolitan areas in 58 different practice groups also rank K&L Gates within the top 10 firms for both most regional/metropolitan tier 1 and overall tier 1 recognitions, all honors the firm has held each year since the inception of “Best Law Firms
My questions are:
Why would Gates risk triple damages potentially up to $300M dollars in a Texas courtroom after losing their case to dismiss the case?
Why would Gates sully their perfect reputation in the law community and risk the loss of hundreds of millions of business and future Top 10 Awards from the negative publicity sure to come from a Michael Minns case? I think the loss to their reputation is the dagger they fear most.
