You can't draw direct parallels between smallpox, polio, or a bacterial infection like tetanus and Covid.

I'd suggest that you can, in order to make the point, that vaccinations work. Look at these stats: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#dem...csovertime
Something has caused the rate of infections and death in the USA to diminish lately and I don't think it is the "opening up" of states. There have been 219 million vaccinations in the US to date. 66% of people 65 years of age or older have been fully immunized so far. Vaccinations and people continuing to take care in public looks like it might be making a difference in the rates.
The Spanish Flu was a much more lethal disease. 500 million people infected with 50 million deaths worldwide. Covid so far 146 million infected with 3.1 million death worldwide. Of course standard of care is very different now and there was no Leronlimab in 1919.
Leronlimab should be playing a big role in this pandemic and will become important in stopping Covid. I agree that Covid can become much more lethal if people don't understand what it takes to stop the pandemic.
