JLang You do realize that getting the world to

You do realize that getting the world to stop for one month is an unobtainable goal. No way, no how is this ever going to happen. I think you waste your time pointing this out. People know this virus and the mutations are serious.
What will be the turning point for you--or anyone--to say, OK, I am now ready to get out in the public and interact with people. Is it a new drug, time, a scientist to tell you it is OK, you getting tired of isolation? I only ask because I have friends who are still in isolation and I haven't seen them for 15+ months.
I don't care at all if people choose to wear a mask after they are vaccinated. I choose not to, but others look down on me because of it even when I am outside in the public. I was at a youth baseball game last week without a mask and was told to go to my car to get one. I walked so that was impossible. My thought was--covid only exists outside the fence but not on the playing field?? There were no masks on the players and coaches. In the end, I sat in the outfield with our next door neighbor and we enjoyed the game together.
We all have feelings about this and I guess mine is that I want to get back to some normality in my life. We have all given up so much in the last year. My step mother died 2 weeks ago--not "from" covid but I feel "because" of it. I watched her go from playing cards, interacting with others, coloring, etc to total isolation in her room and seeing the mental deterioration because of it. Was it worse than loosing her life to covid? No, unfortunately they both accomplished the same thing.
We as a society have made us afraid of our fellow human being--a society that is afraid of itself. I have chosen not to be afraid of humans--it may cost me in the end but I am willing to take a chance.
Calstang--KEEP wearing your mask. It has nothing to do with being a "guy"--it has everything to do with you wanting to protect yourself. Go for it!!
