The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is OPEN to help those who promote the use of ivermectin versus COVID-19 to include the said drug in emergency drug use.
At today's hearing in the House, FDA Director General Eric Domingo said they will address the congressmen's request to include the said drug in the COVID protocol.
Apart from ivermectin, the drug Leronlimab is also included in the DEU (Drug Emergency Use).
Both ivermectin and leronlimab are supported by private doctors so as not to worsen the effect of the virus on the human body.
When two drugs are included in the COVID protocol, it is easier to obtain Emergency Use Authorization for such drugs.
Another hospital, granted a compassionate special permit
Another hospital was granted a compassionate special permit (CSP) to use the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin against COVID-19.
This was announced by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director General Eric Domingo at the Chamber hearing.
This is the third hospital to get a CSP.
Domingo said another application is still pending.
It will be recalled that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte ordered the Philippines to conduct its own clinical trials on ivermectin as a drug in COVID-19.
According to Domingo, the President himself will order the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Health to conduct clinical trials.
He said this is because many have heard and heard that the President supports this and there are also scientists who still lack evidence.
