Do you really want to know my plan? If you do you can click on Goosebumbs and read my previous posts. It’s what I believe could happen and what I hope that happens.
As for being a follower. Never have been a follower. Been more of a leader in my adventures and groups. At the very least a team player.
I was a little hard on you and Bronxboy. But really I don’t believe in even friendly protests. I have been involved with letter campaigns and signature gathering before in my life and it was active but not a great way to get information out. Will those old methods change the world? I am not so old school that I believe they will change the world anymore.
If you really want to be active and supportive in this time in our life of social media. That is the place where information will go viral and effort is best placed in my opinion. Twitter and Facebook and Reddit and many other avenues will get you more progress. Writing government elected officials could help but my experience is a return of auto reply or form letters. Now if you commented on their Twitter as a follower of your local officials on the federal level then they might pay attention. But chances are they ignore you also. Someone will hopefully feel the passion at that level in government at some point to push for us. I don’t want to guess the chances of that. They seem pretty slim
Instead in this situation. I will hope for a 3 arm trial like what is predicted to happen to prove without a doubt that we will save lives. One arm for two doses and the second arm for 4 weekly doses with IV being the first dose for quick action. The third of coarse is placebo. I am hoping it is a 300 person trial with one third in each. With better age averaging and a 60 day trial with primary end point being 6 days early for out of hospital. Because that seems like a lock to achieve. That’s the bottom line. Meet your primary end point and we don’t have to beg for recognition when we can demand it. The hope is that the second arm shows mortality that is matching our 82% efficacy at 14 day mortality but at 28 days and even 60 days with no drop off. As being a secondary end point we take no risk if it’s a little less than what we hope. Then the celebration will happen... we no longer have to beg for a EUA because we will have had results enough to get the second BLA ever given for covid. The first of coarse was Remdesivir. That’s my dream and what I am waiting for. Is it achievable? I believe so or I would be here chatting daily.
Is there other way we succeed? Yes... there is another way but you will have to click on my posts from this last week to see the other way I believe we can get an EUA. I said I would not go there again. But really we need a BLA and if you know the difference between the two. You will know that another trial is necessary to achieve BLA status.
Some day I will start a post with... a long story short version. But that isn’t today. But you did ask. So that is my story... and in this situation you can make believe your in some way leading and you or I might get lucky. I should never doubt somebodies effort. It takes all of us to succeed. We just do it in different ways that suits our experience and needs.
