The FDA was created with a psychotic design as a result of the pure food and drug act partially as a response to " The Octopus". Its purpose the was to keep two different types of consumed items free of poison, food and drugs. They both require totally different approaches and expertise. Can the FDA commissioner possibly have effective expertise in agriculture, drugs, and the practice of medicine all at the same time? Impossible is my answer. There needs to be reorganization of the FDA into separate agencies in order for government to regulate effectively.
