You are correct--no one forced them to sell stock but then again, no one knows their personal situation and why they sold. People on this board want to continually believe the BOD sold for the wrong reason.
Have you ever sold a stock before it went up in price?? If yes, why did you do that?
I buy and SELL stock all the time and sometimes it goes up after I sell.
Maybe your listed individuals wanted the money for other reasons of which we have no idea.
To provide for their kids/grandkids/family, a new house/car, to set up an endowment at the high school or college, who know the many possible reasons why they sold stock. It may have been as simple as not keeping all of their eggs in one basket.
Some of the aforementioned individuals aren't exactly spring chickens--and as someone close to 60--the end is a lot closer than the beginning so it is time to start enjoying my money --maybe they are doing the same.
If they sold with insider information--that is another road to travel down but the SEC would catch up to them eventually.
Don't think of your situation of why you sold/bought, as it is not their situation and they aren't the same.
Again, it is good to be critical--but there is no reason to continually criticize. I guess I am tired of the constant bashing of them selling stock without the basher knowing all of the information
