There would have to be an agreement that at such a time the SOC only treatment was a failure and the patient would be treated as a failure for the SOC and the B IV is strictly a last gasp effort, which could not work as already being too late for the patient, and wouldn't count against B in the trial.
Most likely this will not occur but it is sad to think some people are dying strictly due to the luck of the draw and that the saving drug is already in the hospital where the patient is dying.
