" Seems like about 1 out of 10 hires sticks and its usually the guy I least expected. "
I started my career with my present company as a sales and marketing executive and I've been in that position now for 17 years working on my eighteenth, (promotion at the end, you'll see). When I was hired in the owners office, I walked out to the outer office and I dropped my business file case on the floor and everything fell out and no one noticed that but as I was picking up all that fell out, I overheard the general manager and the owner talking. The general manager said, this guy is not going to work out for us and then the owner said, let's just see how this plays out, George.
Well, it turned out in my first year there, the owner actually said to me, " I wish we had 20 more like you around here", and also said, " George, the general manager, at that time said that he thought you were a dud or you'd never work out. Well, guess what, I am the general manager starting my 2nd year and am the best marketing specialist they ever had with sales and marketing strategies out performing my predecessor by 3 fold and that's not me saying it, it's the the owner that told me. Then, I invested a ton of money in the company in my 4th year and the company has expanded nationwide since then.
So, yes, I know what it feels like to be in that, as you say, " " Seems like 1 out of 10 hires stick and it's usually the guy they least expected. "
GLTU and all longs and I will say this again, I have not and will not sell even 1/2 of 1 share til we get to the finish line and I expect that to come about sooner than some believe.
Sorry for the long post but BW posted exactly what transpired from year 1 to year 17 and I plan to work til I am 80+ if my health is good so just 6+ yeas to go. Yeah, I know, dated material, UGH.
