That's BS. I've been in software development and IT for ~40 years, and during that time I've hired ~200-300 mid-to-senior level people. Some of these people were later let go because they were very good at interviewing (and we were desperate to fill key positions) bui they turned out to be poor performers. The hiring manager usually relies on SMEs and other senior staff to assist with the interview process, and then meets with them after the interviews are conducted to get their feedback, and then (and only then) makes a decision on whether to hire them. If you think NP was the only one who interviewed Mahboob, you're sorely mistaken. I'm not saying NP didn't have the final say, but if you're going to say NP's to blame for hiring him, then you also need to blame the other board members and executive staff who interviewed him.
