I'm really surprised by today's news. It's not difficult for anyone who's familiar with both Filipino and Brazilian culture / politics / state of scientific inquiry to see which is more.. probable to make progress over the same timeframe. But I really thought Canada would be the first mover for LLMab. And while I'll wait for the studies to actually start to "get excited," this just suggested Brazil is a serious contender for that #1 spot. They arguably need it more than anyone else, and deserve anything to lessen the damage their particularly nasty variants are causing.. enrollment in these studies will absolutely not be a problem. And I'm extremely curious to see LLMab pitted against P.1..
And while that's great and what we would all hope and expect, the real news is Brazil here. That is technically early as well (just let us know when patients start getting injected), but the odds of Brazil following through are much higher than the Philippines, for example.
