One of my best friends from my youth was a Lumbee Indian, may he rest in peace, and for quite a few years I had to tend to some business in Lumberton, NC. Economically speaking, the Lumbee were/are on par with Asian Americans and may possibly be a step or two ahead of them. It's amazing how much better off individuals/groups are when they refuse to become addicted to the very poor nourishment that drips from the government teat.
