I agree with you Evil Rabbit. The reasons Pablob listed are the reason that the 4th wave is going to happen.

I do not see us getting to herd immunity until a 4th or 5th wave happens. Average age of covid patients is now 35yrs old. The young are getting out and doing all the things they missed during the pandemic. There are to many people that won’t take the free vaccine... and for many reasons. Personally, I Have almost completed my two weeks after my second dose of the Phizer vaccine.
My view on the vaccine is that why not protect yourself and mainly your family and friends. Getting the vaccine keeps everyone you ever cared about safe. I just happen to care about a lot of people. I have been a hermit this past year just because I care about the one(s) I love. To protect the one’s I care about is paramount to me. Even though I am vaccinated I still wear a mask. I am not suppose to be a carrier of the virus now since I have 2 weeks after 2nd dose. I look forward to my new freedoms that are happening currently. I am still wearing a mask to protect the ones I love.
As for covid going away completely... we aren’t even close to seeing it go away. There could be a variant that can decimate anyone and everyone in our future. We have to be smarter as a society than we have been. The political reasons for not getting the vaccine is the reason that scares me the most. Vaccines and masks should not be political. They or we all should just follow the science. Science and politics can see the same end game if you believe in the science.
